My name is Jeff Roberts and I am a Sr. Systems Administrator for eHarmony in Pasadena, California where I also live with my wife Kathryn and my two children Sofia and Wesley. Up until 2006, I was a Cameraman on Movies, TV, Music Videos and Commercials. Changes in that industry and in my own life made it necessary for me to find a new career and since Linux, computers and computer sciences had long been a hobby of mine, I got my RHCE and started a new career as a SysAdmin. One of the first lessons I learned in film school was to always respect one’s tools, and it quickly became obvious to me that VIM was going to be a fundamental tool for me. So I kind of adopted it as my new light meter, something to wear on my tool belt and to be a kind of companion. Something to help me work smarter, not harder and to get home faster.
I love learning new things about being a SysAdmin, and I have always loved that SysAdmins like to share knowledge, so I setup, in a little corner of the interweb, Vim-Fu to share my experiences.

Hi Jeff,
I found your page while looking for EC2/DNS ideas online, and then realized you’re Kathryn’s husband who my wife, Taj, kept saying I should talk to! Just wanted to drop a line saying hello here…
Cheers,
Joseph
